First consultation: the seven questions that tell you if you are in the right place

L'équipe Bloom Clinic

The right clinic is not the one that promises most. It is the one that welcomes your questions, and knows how to say no when no is the right answer.

What sets a serious centre apart shows neither on its shopfront nor in its photographs. It shows in the order things happen at the first consultation: an examination first, a proposal second. Never the other way round. If a treatment is proposed before anyone has looked at you, you are not in a consultation — you are in a sale.

Why the question matters now

Non-invasive aesthetic medicine has become widely available, and supply has followed — in Morocco as elsewhere. In the same movement, patients have become markedly more demanding: people now arrive with questions, because they have seen poor results and half-kept promises go by.

That is excellent news, for clinics too. Someone who understands what they are buying is someone who will not be disappointed.

The seven questions to ask

  1. What will you examine before proposing anything? A skin diagnosis, an assessment, measurements — something must come before the proposal.
  2. Which technology, and why that one for me? The answer should be about YOUR skin, your phototype, the area concerned. Not about the newest device on the floor.
  3. How many sessions, and at what rhythm? An honest order of magnitude beats a round number.
  4. What will this treatment not do? Keep this one — we come back to it below.
  5. What are the contraindications, and what do you need to know about my history? If nobody asks about your health or your current medication, that is a problem.
  6. What exactly does the quote include, and what does it not? Later maintenance sessions are part of that question.
  7. What happens if you decide I am not a good candidate? How that is answered tells you more than everything else.

The warning signs

  • A treatment proposed before any examination.
  • A price that drops if you sign today. A protocol fitted to you is not negotiated by the hour.
  • A numerical promise of results, or the word guaranteed. No technology guarantees an outcome on skin it has not yet treated.
  • No questions about your history, your current medication or a possible pregnancy.
  • A vague answer to why this technology rather than another.

The question that matters most

It is the fourth: what will this treatment not do? A practitioner who answers it precisely is telling you, by implication, what they genuinely command. HIFU does not remove skin. Pressotherapy does not make you lose weight. Permanent hair removal does not clear one hundred per cent of hair for life. None of that is bad news — these are ordinary limits, and stating them is the sign that nobody is selling you a dream.

Conversely, a centre that acknowledges no limit to what it offers will let you discover those limits on your own, after paying.

And if the answer is "this is not for you"?

That is the best answer you can get. It spares you a course that would have achieved nothing, and it tells you the advice you just received was not conditioned by a sale. A centre that knows how to refuse is a centre whose yes you can believe.

At Bloom Clinic, in Rabat and in Casablanca, the first consultation is free and carries no obligation: an in-depth skin diagnosis, a full assessment, then a treatment plan — or an explanation of why there isn't one. Come with your questions; they are welcome.
